Professional teachers are at the core of any educationally successful school.  To be an accredited school, a high percentage of the faculty must be credentialed. What does accreditation mean?

Accreditation means the school has made an intentional commitment and plan to raise its standards by having expert educational organizations endorse and oversee the school’s operation.

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), highlight accreditation this way:

  • Certifies to the public that the school is a trustworthy institution of learning
  • Validates the integrity of a school’s program and student transcripts, ensuring that credit is transferable
  • Fosters improvement of the school’s programs and operations to support student learning
  • Assures a school community that the school’s purposes are appropriate and being accomplished through a viable educational program

Our school day for students Kindergarten – 8th grade is from 7:50 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The reason for a full-day Kindergarten program is to accomplish our two primary Kindergarten objectives:

1. To have a successful socialization process in preparation for the elementary school environment.

2. Maximize academic preparation for the 1st grade by building a solid foundation.

Where do your students go to high school?

Students leave SCS academically prepared to enter any private or public high school. In the past, we have not had any graduates unable to enter the high school of their choice. Traditionally our students move on to either their neighborhood public high school, Brookside Christian High School, St. Mary’s Catholic High School or Jim Elliot Christian High School.
